Additions to existing homes/buildings:
Require a building permit. Discuss your plans with the Code Enforcement Officer prior to starting.

Building/Pavillion Rental:

If you are looking for a place to hold a party or family reunion, the community room and pavilion are available for rental.

Community Room fee: $35 for township residents; $85 for non residents (all community room rentals require a refundable $35 security fee)

Pavilion fee: $100 which covers the cost for cleaning of the existing portable restroom. Pavilion rentals are limited to township residents only. No exceptions. (All pavilion rentals require a $35 refundable security fee)

To rent either one of these facilities, call the township office to check date availability and print off the "Rental Policy and Form" which can be found by clicking the Document/Application link on the left side of this page, fill out, initialing each page, and turn into the township office with payment and security fee.

Decks:
Residential decks without roofs less than 30 inches above grade do not require a building permit.

Fences:
Fences not over 6 feet (1829 mm) high do not require a building permit.

Garbage:
Regularly scheduled pick up day in Wilmington Township is Wednesday.  If your scheduled collection day falls on or after a weekday holiday, your collection will be one (1) day later that week.  If your collection day falls before a weekday holiday, there will be no change in your collection day.
 

House Numbers:
All buildings must have house numbers. The property address number shall be 4" high, 1/2" stroke, Arabic numerals in reflective white on a sign of contrasting background purchased at the township office. The sign shall be posted at the driveway, within 3 feet of the road right of way and driveway intersection, and be placed at a height of 3" to 4". House numbers must be visible from both directions of travel on the roadway. Signs are available at the Township Office.

No Lien Letters and Tax Certifications:
No lien letter requests should be sent to Wilmington Township, 35 Auction Road, New Wilmington, PA 16142. A check in the amount of $25 per parcel request made payable to Wilmington Township and a self addressed stamped envelope must accompany each request.

Tax Certifications must be sent to Jennifer Harvey, Tax Collector, 84 Number 8 Road, New Wilmington, PA 16142. The cost is $10 per tax year per certification. Checks should be made out to Jennifer Harvey, Tax Collector.

Swimming Pools (in-ground and above-ground):

Walls:
Retaining walls that are not over 4 feet (1219 mm) in height measured from the bottom of the footing to the top of the wall, unless supporting surcharge or impounding class I, II, or IIIa liquids do not require a building permit.
